Home Project Progress Report

This is the second part to the art project. We are working to include our artist's mark, mine is Bronzino, in a self-portrait. I started with a picture of myself and grided the paper. I had to choose an image with good lighting that also had part of my body and face in it. From there, I started sketching my figure using the grid to guide me. I struggled with the face as I felt the proportions were off. I then used my computer to put my drawing on top of the reference photo and was able to tell where I needed to make corrections. I then completed the face and added a few more contour lines and areas where I was going to add shadows. As you can see in the first picture, the nose was too high and too small. The left side of the face also had to be slimmer. Once I corrected these, I was able to move on to the rest of the drawing.
