For this piece, I kept my themes of reflection and light but changed my content. Instead of painting candy, I moved to painting crystal and glass. My reference photo was of a chandelier, and I liked it because it had a lot of depth. I am able to draw focus to the crystals in the foreground by making them very crisp while leaving the background soft and out of focus. I also liked how it had some ambiguity, and the blend of the crystals moves the eye around the piece. Because of all the layers and complexity, it has been hard to choose which areas to focus on. I found that I have to choose the important elements to focus on, while making the other areas simple. I also liked the color scheme of the piece, and how it was mainly cool blues with some yellows and tans mixed in.
